ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – No. 19-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer scored two goals in the first half and added another in the second on its way to a 3-2 victory at Missouri Western Friday, Sept. 24, at Spratt Memorial Stadium.
The Jennies (6-1-0) are scheduled to travel to Maryville, Mo., on Sunday, Sept. 26, to take on Northwest Missouri for their first MIAA conference match of the season.
The Jennies netted goals in the 25th, 34th, and 51st minutes in the win.

Sydney Leslie and
Isa Yanes netted the Central Missouri goals in the match, with Lindsey Edmonds and
Jordan Austin each tallying assists.
UCM goalkeeper
Lindsey Johnson improved to 6-1-0 on the season after making four saves in the full 90 minutes.
Martin opened the scoring for the Jennies just over 25 minutes into the match, hammering an Edmonds feed into the back of the net, giving UCM the 1-0 advantage. It was Martin's second goal of 2021.
Leslie doubled Central Missouri's lead less than 10 minutes later in the 34th-minute, placing her shot into the lower left corner of the goal, making it 2-0. It was her team-best fifth goal of the season.
Kelsey Burkley scored a goal for Missouri Western (3-2-2) in the 49th-minute, trimming the Jennies lead in half, 2-1.
Central Missouri had an answer though, and pushed its advantage to 3-1 in the 51st-minute when Yanes slotted home a pass from Austin. It was Yanes' second goal of 2021.
The Griffons weren't done, however, and responded with a goal by Eszter Toth in the 67th-minute, cutting the UCM advantage to 3-2, but the Jennies kept Missouri Western off the scoreboard the final 23 minutes, sealing the victory in St. Joseph.
The Griffons outshot UCM in the match overall, 16-15, but placed on six of their shots on goal, comparted to 11 on target for the Jennies.
Missouri Western goalkeeper Anna Maver (3-2-2) took the loss in-goal for the Griffons after allowing three goals and making eight saves in 90 minutes.
