EMPORIA, Kan. – Audrey Fisher tallied 20 kills to lead No. 7-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball to a 3-1 victory over the Emporia State Lady Hornets Thursday, Sept. 23, at White Auditorium in Emporia. The set scores were 21-25, 25- 15, 25-17 and 25-13.
The Jennies (10-1, 3-0 MIAA) are scheduled to host No. 1-ranked Washburn (11-1, 3-0 MIAA) Saturday, Sept. 25, at 6:30 p.m. inside the UCM Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
Fisher, who hails from Lenexa, Kan., had a season-best 20 kills on 39 attempts with four errors for a blistering .410 attacking percentage and added a season-high five blocks (two block solos, three block assists), while
Ally Offerdahl posted her team-best seventh double-double of 2021 with 41 assists and 14 digs, and
Rylie Barnum added a career-high 22 digs.
Aubree Bell chipped in with a career-high-tying four service aces, and
Hannah Engelken (11) and
Sydney Lierz (10) also reached double figure kills in the contest, with Lierz compiling 14 digs to complete her second double-double of the season.
Central Missouri outhit Emporia State (2-9, 0-4 MIAA) in the match, .207 to .065, marking the fifth match of the season UCM has held an opponent under .100 hitting, and tallied advantages in kills (58-32), aces (8-0), assists (48-27), digs (84-75) and blocks (7-3) on its way to a fifth straight victory.
Shelby Ebert had 12 kills on 52 attempts, leading the Lady Hornets.
