WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Seventh-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer dropped its first match of the 2021 season Sunday, Sept. 12, at the South Recreation Complex, falling to third-ranked Grand Valley State, 3-0.
The Jennies (3-1-0) are scheduled to host Northwest Missouri State Friday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. in a non-conference match.
The Lakers (4-0-0) netted goals in the 21st, 77th and 89th minutes on their way to victory.
Taylor Reid netted the opening goal of the contest off a Greta Deloach assist, before Deloach scored a goal of her own on a Cate Brown feed, and Kennedy Bearden posted the final goal of the match via Reid assist.
Sydney Leslie had two shots – both on goal – to pace UCM offensively for the contest.

Lindsey Johnson (3-1-0) took the loss between the posts after giving up three goals and making six saves.
Grand Valley State goalkeeper Callie Rich (4-0-0) earned the victory after going the full 90 and giving up no goals with three saves.
The Lakers outshot the Jennies in the match, 17-12, including a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.
