DENVER -- Kersti Nix had a career-high 19 kills to help the No. 10 University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team defeat fifth-ranked Lewis, 3-2, on the final day of the Colorado Premier Challenge Saturday, Sept. 11, in Denver. The set scores were 23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 22-25 and 15-5.
Central Missouri (7-1) is scheduled to host Missouri Western for its home and MIAA opener Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m. at the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
Nix, who hails from Overland Park, Kan., compiled 19 kills on 42 attempts with only six errors for a .310 attacking percentage.
Ally Offerdahl added 45 assists, while
Rylie Barnum had 20 digs, and
Hannah Engelken compiled six blocks.
UCM outhit Lewis (5-3), .257 to .124 in the match.
