INDIANAPOLIS – University of Central Missouri Mules wrestlers
Darick Lapaglia and
Emmett Kuntz both placed at the 42nd Midwest Classic inside Nicoson Hall Sunday, Dec. 19. Lapaglia finished sixth at 149 pounds while Kuntz was eighth at 165 pounds.
Central Missouri (0-1) is scheduled to return to the mats Jan. 9 at the William Jewell Duals in Liberty, Mo.
Lapaglia, a redshirt senior from Blue Springs, Mo., took sixth after dropping a 3-2 decision to Pitt.-Johnstown's Jacob Ealy. He finished the tournament 4-3 and sits at 7-4 on the season.
Kuntz, a senior from Bakersfield, Calif., posted his eighth-place finish after falling to Mary's Leo Mushinsky via a 5-2 decision in the seventh-place match. He wrapped up the tournament with a record of 4-3 and moved his season record to 8-9.
In the team standings, the Mules finished tied for 21st out of 42 teams.
