PITTSBURG, Kan. – Brooke Littrell posted a career-high 26 points and
Nija Collier tallied her 10th double-double of the season with 25 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Central Missouri Jennies basketball team to a 70-61 win at Pittsburg State Saturday, Dec. 18, inside John Lance Arena.
The Jennies (8-4, 4-1 MIAA) are scheduled to host Washburn Saturday, Jan. 1, at 1 p.m. at the UCM Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
Littrell, a redshirt freshman from Green City, Mo., netted her career-best 26 on 11-of-20 shooting from the floor, including a 1-of-2 showing from three-point range, and a 3-of-3 performance at the free-throw line while also snagging 12 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.
A redshirt senior from Roseville, Mich., Collier went 10-of-22 from the field and 5-of-5 at the foul line enroute to her 25 points while crashing the glass for her 18 rebounds, which included seven offensive boards and 11 defensive rebounds.
Olivia Nelson also reached double figures in the game for UCM, scoring 12 points, and added a team-best five assists.
For the game, the Jennies shot 46 percent from the field (29-for-63), 15 percent from beyond-the-arc (2-of-13), and 83 percent at the free-throw line (10-of-12), and outrebounded Pittsburg State, 42-30, including 15-11 on the offensive glass. UCM also owned the paint, outscoring the Gorillas, 46-20, on the inside.
Pittsburg State (8-3, 4-2 MIAA) was led by Tristan Gegg, who netted 21 points, respectively.
