Ja'Cor Nelson had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead Central Missouri Mules basketball to a 66-58 victory at Pittsburg State Saturday, Dec. 18, inside John Lance Arena.
The Mules (6-3, 3-2 MIAA) are scheduled to host Washburn in a New Year's Day MIAA contest Saturday, Jan. 1, at 3 p.m. inside the UCM Multipurpose Building.
Pinkley, a redshirt junior from Hillsboro, Mo., went 7-of-15 from the field, 2-of-9 from three-point range and a perfect 8-of-8 at the free-throw line for his season-best 24 points and had nine boards in the game, while Nelson, a redshirt senior from Hopkins, S.C., went 4-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-4 at the free-throw line for his 11 points and pulled down 10 boards to complete his third double-double of the season.
Ikenna Okeke also reached double figures with 10 points, and
Matt Todd dished out five assists and had only one turnover in the contest.
The Mules shot 41 percent from the floor (20-of-49), 16 percent from three-point range (4-of-25) and were an impressive 82 percent at the free-throw line, making 22 of 27 attempts.
Cameron Huefner and Ryan Pippins both scored 10 points, pacing Pittsburg State (3-9, 2-4 MIAA), respectively.
