No. 20 Missouri Western Edges Jennies in Overtime, 68-67

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Nija Collier scored at least 30 points for the second consecutive game but it wasn't enough, as Central Missouri Jennies basketball fell to No. 20-ranked Missouri Western, 68-67, inside the MWSU Fieldhouse in an MIAA game Saturday, Dec. 11.

The Jennies (5-4, 1-1 MIAA) are scheduled to return home to the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg for a 5:30 p.m. conference game vs. Northwest Missouri State Monday, Dec. 13.

After netting 31 points in the win over Lincoln Dec. 5, Collier scored a game-high 30 points on 13-of-22 shooting from the floor and a 4-of-6 showing at the free-throw line against the Griffons. She also snagged a game-best 15 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season.

Brooke Littrell added 19 points, rounding out the Jennies in double figures in the contest.

UCM shot 45 percent from the field and 75 percent at the free-throw line, and outrebounded the Griffons, 47-29, but couldn't overcome 25 turnovers.

Missouri Western (8-0, 4-0 MIAA) shot 40 percent from the field and scored 28 points off Central Missouri's 25 turnovers. The Griffons also outscored the Jennies in the paint, 44-38, and only turned the ball over 12 times in the game.
