TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Mules wrestling had six place-winners at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open hosted by Maryville University Saturday, Nov. 6, at Westminster Academy.
Sophomore
John Ridle went a perfect 4-0 at 157 points to claim the individual championship, while
Darick Lapaglia went 2-1 and finished second at 141 pounds.
Austin Morgan also finished runner-up, going 3-1 in the 165-pound bracket.
Roger Carranco went 3-1 on his way to a second-place finish at 184 pounds in the amateur brackets, Joseph Swason was fourth in the 197-pound amateur bracket after posting a record of 4-2, and
Bryce Faworski placed fifth in the 174-ound amateur bracket with a 3-2 record, rounding out the Mule place-winners.
Ridle captured the 157-pound title in dramatic fashion, defeating Indianapolis's Nathan Conley via a tie-breaker-1 in the first-place match.
Central Missouri is scheduled to return to action Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Grand View Open in Des Moines, Iowa.
