WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Audrey Fisher posted 16 kills, five blocks and hit .536 to lead No. 3-ranked and top-seeded University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball to a five-set win over 12th-ranked and No. 4 seeded Nebraska Kearney in the MIAA tournament semifinals Friday, Nov. 19, inside the UCM Multipurpose Building. The set scores were 18-25, 25-16, 25-14, 16-25 and 15-12.
The Jennies (27-3) will host No. 2 seed and fourth-ranked Northwest Missouri (26-4) in the MIAA tournament championship match Saturday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. The Bearcats defeated Washburn in the semifinals, 3-1.
Fisher, the 2021 MIAA Player of the Year, compiled her match-high 16 kills on 28 attempts with just one error for her .536 attack percentage, while
Hannah Engelken added 14 kills on .314 hitting and a match-best six blocks.
Hannah VanBuskirk (12) and
Kersti Nix (10) also recorded double digit kills in the match.
Ally Offerdahl had a team-high 31 assists to go along with 16 digs for her 16th double-double of the season, while
Chandler Vaughan added 23 assists and
Rylie Barnum tallied a team-best 23 digs.
The Jennies outhit the Lopers (25-6) in the match, .290 to .228, and posted advantages in kills (67-56), blocks (11-8), assists (65-55) and digs (77-67).
Emerson Cyza had 14 kills and Maddie Squiers compiled a match-best 48 assists, pacing the Lopers.
