WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Nija Collier and
Brooke Littrell tallied double-doubles to lead fourth-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies basketball to a 79-60 win over the Northern State Wolves in the MIAA/NSIC Regional Challenge Friday, Nov. 12, at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
The Jennies (2-2) will host MSU Moorhead (0-1) in their second game of the challenge Saturday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m.
Littrell, a redshirt freshman from Green City, Mo., tied her career-high with a game-high 21 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for her third double-double of the young 2021-22 season while Collier, a redshirt senior from Roseville, Mich., scored 18 points and snagged 12 boards for her third double-double of the season.
Olivia Nelson added 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting, including a 4-of-6 performance from three-point range, and had a game-high six assists.
Central Missouri shot 49 percent from the floor, going 27-for-55, and went 14-for-27 from beyond-the arc for 52 percent. UCM made 11 out of 16 free throws for 69 percent.
The Jennies outrebounded the Wolves (0-1), 36-32, in the game.
Lexi Roe scored 16 points, pacing Northern State, respectively.
