WICHITA, Kan. -- No. 18 University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer scored a goal in the 91st-minute of overtime to earn a 1-0 shutout win over the Newman Jets on Friday, Oct. 8, at Wilkins Field

The Jennies (9-1-1, 3-0-1 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Edmond, Okla., to take on Central Oklahoma (8-2-1, 4-0-0 MIAA) on Sunday, Oct. 10th at 1 p.m.
With the match scoreless heading into the 91st minute, junior
Kassie Newsom netted the game-winning goal off a pass from freshman
Lexi Ruf. It was Newsom's team-best eighth goal of the season and Ruf's first collegiate assist.
The Jennies' defense and goalkeeper
Lindsey Johnson came up big in the match, keeping the Jets off the scoreboard to secure their sixth clean sheet of the season.
Johnson had to make just one save in the 92-minute match and improved to 9-1-1 in-goal on the season with the victory, while the UCM backline limited Newman (0-8-1, 0-4-0 MIAA) to just two shots the entire match.
The Jennies posted a commanding 21-2 advantage in shots, including a 15-1 edge in shots on-target.
Newman goalkeeper Jackie Lari made 14 saves between the posts, leading the Jets, respectively.
