WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Seventeenth-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer scored two goals each in the first and second halves on its way to a 4-2 victory over the Fort Hays State Tigers on Friday, Oct. 15, at the South Recreation Complex.

The Jennies (11-1-1, 5-0-1 MIAA) host Nebraska Kearney (2-11-0, 1-5-0 MIAA) on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. at the South Recreation Complex.
UCM netted goals in the ninth, 29th, 46th, and 84th minutes on its way to its fifth straight win.

Kassie Newsom and
Ashleigh Martin scored the Central Missouri goals in the match, with Newsom also dishing out two assists.
Caroline Cole also compiled an assist in the contest.

Lindsey Johnson improved to 11-1-1 on the season after making five saves as she went the full 90 minutes between the posts.

Martin opened the scoring for the Jennies just over nine minutes into the match, hammering a Newsom feed into the back of the net, giving UCM the 1-0 advantage.

Newsom doubled Central Missouri's lead 20 minutes later in the 29th-minute, placing a deflected shot off Fort Hays State goalkeeper Deonna Wellbrock into the lower left corner of the goal, making it 2-0.
The Jennies pushed their advantage to 3-0 just a minute into the second half when Newsom struck a pass from Cole home. It was Newsom's team and MIAA-best 13th goal of 2021.

Alex Hutton scored a goal for Fort Hays State (4-7-3, 1-6-0 MIAA) in the 66th-minute, trimming the Jennies lead to 3-1.
The Tigers cut the Central Missouri advantage to 3-2 12 minutes later after Amanda Rapaduski netted a goal.
UCM answered, however, and sealed the match six minutes later when Martin struck a perfectly placed feed from Newsom inside the left post, giving the Jennies the 4-2 lead. It was Martin's fifth goal of 2021.

The Jennies outshot FHSU in the match, 21-17, including a 12-7 advantage in shots on goal. UCM also bested Fort Hays State in corner kicks, 9-1.

Tiger goalkeeper Deonna Wellbrock (4-7-3) took the loss in-goal after allowing three goals and making seven saves in 61 minutes.
