WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Sept. 5, 2019) - The University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer opened their 2019 season with a 4-3 home victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State.
How it happened:
• Jennies were the first on the board as freshman
Macy Ruffalo scored her first collegiate goal in the first 15 minutes off a pass from
Makayla Toth.
•
Haley Freeman scored her just two minutes later, unassisted, giving the Jennies a 2-0 lead into the half.
• UCM's third goal of the day was off the head of Toth on a cross from Freeman in the 50th minute.
• SWOSU's Brianna Benitez saved the Bulldogs from the shut out, scoring unassisted shortly after Toth's goal.
• The Bulldogs added another in the 57th minute as Hannah Burks scored off a pass from Benitez.
• It was Toth again who scored UCM's final goal of the opening day. Toth scored unassisted from about 10 yards out in the 81st minute.
• SWOSU was able to put a third goal in the back of the Jennies net as Sandra Nabweteme scored unassisted in the 87th minute.
Jennies Stat Leaders:
• Toth led the Jennies with four shots, two goals and an assist against the Bulldogs.
• Freeman finished opening day with a goal and as assist.
• Ruffalo recorded two shots and one goal.
For the Bulldogs:
• Benitez led SWOSU's scoring with a goal and an assist.
• Nabweteme led the Bulldogs with five shots, one falling in for a goal.
• Burks record two shots and one goal.

• With two goals today, Toth moves up to ninth in career goals with 29.
• The Jennies out-shot the Bulldogs 15-12.
