SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Sept. 8, 2019) - Junior,
Makayla Toth records her first hat trick in Central Missouri 5-1 road win over the Augustana Vikings.
How it Happened:
• UCM newcomer
Nayeli Gallo scored her first collegiate goal in the 3rd minute of the match, assisted by Toth.
• About 10 minutes later it was Toth's turn to find the back of the net, scoring off a pass from
Macy Ruffalo.
• In the 20th minute,
Haley Freeman scored her second goal of the season with an assist from
Kassie Newsom.
• Augustana's Sylvia Fehr saved the Vikings from the first-half shutout. Fehr scored in the 30th minute off an assist from Josie Arduser.
• Jennies lead 3-1 at the half.
• About 22 minutes into the second half, Toth scores her second goal of the match, unassisted.
• Scoring the final goal of the match was Toth again in the 85th minute off a cross from
Macy Ruffalo.
Jennies Stat Leaders:
• Toth was the jennies leading scorer with three goals and an assist.
• Gallo and freeman were each .500 at the net, finishing with two shots and one goal each.
• Ruffalo led UCM in assist with two.
For the Vikings:
• Fehr was Augustana's only goal of the day. The goal was her second of the season.
• Alexis Legg recorded the Vikings team-high of four shots.
News and Notes:
• Toth's three goals against the Vikings is her career-first hat trick.
• With three more today, Toth already has five goals on the season and moves up to eighth in program history with 32 career goals.
