UCMTF Wraps Up Weekend

BOLIVAR, Mo. (April 6, 2019) - Central Missouri Track and Field was busy at work today, sending athletes to two different meets. The throwers competed at the Central Methodist Invite, while the rest of the team toed the line at the SBU Bearcat Invite. 

SPRINTS
In the first running event, the 4x100m relay, the Jennies team of Jyl Stewart, Grace Wormek, Destiney Nash, and Kacey Kohlhof took the crown running a time of 48.11. 

The Mules 4x100m relay team finished third in a competitive field. The quartet of Zion Perry, Andre Williams, Blake Johnson, and Akeemo Minott ran a time of 41.48.

In the quarter mile, Alexis Sroor was the sole Jennie to compete, placing 13th with a new personal best time of 1:02.16.

For the Mules, Corey Timberlake toed the line finishing 21st with a time of 52.49.

Kacey Kohlhof set a huge personal best in the 100m dash. Kohlhof was the top finisher placing fifth with a time of  12.37. Grace Wormek finished 13th, respectively with the time if 12.76.

On the Mules side, Kyzer Ramey was the top finisher running a time of 11.06 for 15th. Zion Perry was right behind him placing 16th with the time of 11.09.

In the 200m dash, Kyzer Ramey was the top-finisher placing 22nd with a time of 22.80.

Jyl Stewart led the Jennies finishing 11th running a time of 26.63. Alexandria Foote' was right behind her finishing 12th with a time 26.64.

HURDLES
In the hurdles, Chris Donald was the Mules top-finisher placing first with the time of 14.88. Trey Miller finished seventh (15.96) and Trent Davis finished eighth (15.98).

For the Jennies, Lauren Nelson was the top finisher in the event coming in eighth place running a personal-best time of 15.70.

In the 400m hurdles, Destiney Nash fought to the finish placing second in the event with a time of 1:03.94. 

Chris Donald took the crown in the 400m hurdles as well, running a time of 52.83. Brett Shaffer finished fourth in the event (55.52) and Matt Scaletty finished sixth overall (55.93).

JUMPS
In the high jump, Haley  Lindenbusch led the Jens placing second after clearing  5-06.00. 

For the Mules, Jesse Miller took the crown after clearing 6-08.75, which is an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark. Trey Miller finished third in the event clearing 6-06.75.

In the triple jump, Christopher Goodwin finished sixth with the leap of 45-09.25. 

For the Jennies, Audrey Fisher finished fifth with the leap of 39-01.25. In the long jump, Fisher placed fourth with the mark of 18-09.00.

Christopher Goodwin finished fourth after jumping 24-07.75. Jesse Miller was right behind him with the leap of 24-07.00 for fifth place.

In the pole vault, the Jennies took first and second place. Cassie Jennings finished first in the event clearing 11-07.75. Callie Ruffener finished second due to the number of attempts clearing 11-07.75, as well. 

Calaway Scholes was the Mules top finisher in the pole vault clearing a new personal best of 14-01.2.

JAVELIN
Cain Fowles finished third in the javelin throw with the mark of 178-01. Logan Mehaffy finished eighth in the event with the mark of 154-00. 

DISTANCE
Amy Marx was the Jennies top-finisher in the 3000m steeplechase. Marx finished third with a personal best time of 11:32.58.

For the Mules, Jared Mentz was the top finisher in the 3000m steeplechase finishing with a personal best time of 9:51.18, placing fifth.

In the 1500m run, Alex Phillips was the top finisher running a time of 4:11.54 to place 20th. Aaron Westhoff was right behind him finishing 21st running 4:12.49.

Cynthia Togom was the Jens top finisher in the 1500m run running a time of 4:37.49, to place second.

Nick Victor was the top finisher for the Mules in the 3000m run. Victor placed seventh after running a time of  9:09.96.  Ryan Skopec was not too far behind running  9:21.12  to take 11th place, respectively. 

In the 800m run, Mariah Elmore was the top finisher for the Jens. Elmore finished fourth running 2:16.86. Emily Thole finished seventh in the event running a time of 2:19.

THROWS AT CMU INVITATIONAL
Ashlan Burton led the Jennies placing first in the shot put and the discus throw. In the shot put, Burton took first with a toss of 49-03.75. Alisha Straws was next up with a new personal best throw of  44-09.75 to place second. In the discus throw, Burton finished first after throwing 150-04. Straws finished second in the discus with her personal best toss of 135-01. 

In the hammer throw, Baylie Bellin's throw of  151-00  made her the Jens top finisher placing third. Rachel Schultz finished third (147-10), Ashlan Burton fourth ( 147-04), and Alisha Straws fifth (143-10).

For the Mules, Nathan Liby was the top finisher in the hammer throw. Liby finished second throwing 198-11. Nathan Cummings was right behind him in third place with his throw of 184-06. Cummings was the top finisher in the discus throw with a toss of 178-05 to finish first. 

In the shot put, the Mules dominated taking first, second, and third place. Dalton Lewallen took first (56-10.00), Nathan Cummings finished the event in second (56-06.75), and John Berry rounded out the top three (49-10.00).

UCM Track and Field is back in action April 13 at the Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan.
