ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (March 18, 2019) - Central Missouri Jennies Softball finally got their first MIAA games under their belt with a doubleheader against Missouri Western Monday evening in St. Joseph, Mo. After dropping game one 8-6, the Jennies responded to split the series with a 6-3 win in game two. The Jennies move to 10-8 this season and start their MIAA record at 1-1.
Game Two - Central Missouri 6, Missouri Western 3
Play-by-Play
• Missouri Western opened the scoring in the second with a solo home run. They added two home with another long ball in the third, this time a two-run shot, giving them a 3-0 lead.
• Central Missouri came back though with two in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Taylor Dames made it a one-run game blasting a two-run home run over the centerfield fence.

Hailey Crabtree tripled home
Lauryn Deer to tie the game. She scored the go-ahead run on
Jessica Sader's infield single before
Makenzie McAtee put the Jens up three launching a two-run home run to right.

Jordan Johnson found her groove and fired off 3.1 scoreless innings before
Alexa Bradley recorded the final two outs.

Jordan Johnson got the win throwing 6.1 innings with three runs on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

• Brea Blanton collected two hits with a home run, run scored and two RBI.
• Cassidy Kelsheimer also went deep and was 2-4.
• Sydni Hawkins reached base on a hit and a walk and scored a run.
• Kenzie Hilzer started and threw 4.1 innings giving up five runs on seven hits with two strikeouts.
• Olivia Goodale allowed a run in 2.2 innings of work on four hits.

• The Jennies got on the board first as
Taylor Nickel drove in
Makenzie McAtee with the games first run.
• Missouri Western tied it in the second with a two-out RBI single to score an unearned run and then exploded for seven runs in the third.
• The first eight batters all reached base against the Jennies in the third as MWSU scored seven runs on six hits.
• The biggest hit of the inning was a two-run home run to center which made it 5-1. They added three more on an RBI single, fielders choice and sacrifice fly.
• Central Missouri scored in each of the final three innings, but couldn't score enough to complete a comeback. With two outs in the fifth,
Brenlyn McCoy's RBI single to right made it an 8-2 game.
• UCM scored three in the sixth as
Taylor Nickel picked up her second RBI of the game with an opposite field single. One batter later,
Kaitlyn Markin drove a single up the middle with the bases loaded to score two more.
• Leading off the seventh inning,
Hailey Crabtree made it a two-run game with a solo home run to right center.
• The Jennies got the tying runs on base with one out, but a groundout and strikeout ended the game at 8-6.

Taylor Dames picked up a hit in all three at bats with a double. She scored twice as well.

Taylor Nickel each had two hits. Nickel drove in two runs.

• Taylor Hoelscher was 2-4 with a home run and two RBI.
• Sydni Hawkins and Brea Blanton each had two hits and an RBI.
• Kaili Hinds started and threw the first six innings. She allowed six runs on 10 hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
• Olivia Goodale got the save with a scoreless seventh.

• The Jennies have split their last three double headers.

Hailey Crabtree's game two triple was her fifth this season which already is tied for ninth most in a single season in Jennies history.
• The save for
Alexa Bradley is the seventh of her career, which puts her fourth all-time at UCM.
• Five different Jennies had two hits in game two.

Jordan Johnson has now won each of her last four starts. Her five wins this season are the second most in a single season in her career.
