UCM Track And Field Wraps Up At Pitt State

PITTSBURG, Kan. (Jan. 26, 2019) – Central Missouri track and field competed in the Pitt State Invite today and brought back several personal-best performances to Warrensburg.

Jumps
Vincent Hobbie took first place, hitting the automatic qualifying mark in the pole vault. He vaulted a personal best 17-06.25, which also makes him third best in Mules history. 
Callie Ruffener competed in the open division clearing 11-04.25 to place sixth. Cassie Jennings and Madi Wulfekotter both cleared 11-08.00 in the invite placing 10th and 11th, respectively. 


Sophomore Audrey Fisher was the only Jennie to compete in the triple jump and made a statement placing eighth with a leap of 37-08.00.

Brent Alumbaugh was the top-finisher for the Mules in the long jump, hitting the 22-03.50 mark and coming in 15th. Brad Jenkins had a big day in the sand as the Mules top-finisher in the triple jump placing second, with a leap of 49-04.50.

Throws
Ashlan Burton was the Jens top finisher in the shot put.  She finished 10th with a toss of 44-02.25. Alisha Straws took 17th with a personal-best throw of 42-11.50. Rachel Schultz was the Jens top-finisher in the weight throw, with a big personal-best throw of 47-02.25 to take 18th.

The Mules took third, ninth, and 11th in the weight throw. Nathan Liby finished third with a toss of 62-10.00 and Nathan Cummings took ninth with a throw of 55-04.75. John Berry came in 11th with a toss of 53-07.75. In the shot put, the Mules top finisher was Nathan Cummings who placed third with a throw of 58-03.25. Dalton Lewallen took seventh with a toss of 56-07.25.

Sprints/Hurdles/Relays
Sophomore Destiney Nash was a top-finisher for UCM in the 400m-dash. She placed 20th with a personal-best time of 58:24. Chris Donald came out strong placing sixth, with a new personal-best of 48.26 provisionally qualifying him for the national meet. Matt Scaletty finished 26th with a time of 49.99.

Kacey Kohlhof was the top-finisher for the Jens in the 200m dash, finishing 45th with a time of 26.32. Akeemo Minott was the top Mule in the 200m dash, running a time of 22.35 to place 34th. Blake Johnson was next up with a time of 22.47 to place 38th.

In the 600-yard run, Emily Thole was the top-finisher, placing third with a time of 1:38.02. The Mules took first, third and seventh in the 600-yard run. Tanner Skotnicki was the top finisher, placing first with a time of 1:19.79. Jacob Weber ran 1:21.40 to finish third and Derek Nugent placed seventh with a time of 1:22.62.

The Jennies finished eighth in the 4x400m relay. 
Alexandria Foote'Mariah ElmoreEmily Thole, and Destiney Nash were all on the team that finished in 3:56.65. Matt ScalettyJacob Weber, Tanner Skotnicki, and Chris Donald helped the Mules place third as they crossed the line at 3:14.24.

Distance
Mariah Elmore led the Jennies in the 800mcrossing the line in 2:17.39 to take sixth. For the Mules, Noah Larsen was the top-finisher taking 14th with a time of 1:55.85.

Sam Simpson was the Jennies top-finisher in the 3000m run.  She ran a 12:31.19. 

Cynthia Togom placed 12th in the mile, making her the Jennies top-finisher with a time of 5:08.42. For the Mules, Jared Mentz was the top finisher with a time of 4:28.58 to place 41st. 

In the distance medley relay, Karynn Carrol, Maria Wendell, Hannah Rodina, and Kimberlee Sewester were all on the team that finished 14th with a time of 14:05.02. For the Mules, Aaron Westhoff, Derek Nugent, Alex Phillips, and Jared Mentz ran a time of 10:48.78 to place 17th. 

Central Missouri's next meet is the Mule Relays Jan. 31-Feb.2 in Warrensburg, Mo.
