WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Jan. 16, 2019) -
Central Missouri Jennies got back in the win column with a big 19-point win over the Lincoln Blue Tigers. UCM led for nearly 35 minutes in the 77-58 win. The Jens are now 11-4 on the season and 4-3 in the MIAA.
How it Happened
• Both teams were slow to start, taking almost a full quarter to get into a rhythm.
• On the game, the Jennies were 11-35 from the behind the arc, compared to the Blue Tigers 2-11. Shooting from the field was also a factor the Jennies shot 27-65, while the Blue Tigers were 21-59.
• The Jennies outscored Lincoln in bench points 21-13.
• Both teams were turnover prone with the Blue Tigers losing the ball 14 times and the Jennies 11 times, a total of 25 turnovers between both teams.
• Lincoln was the first team on the board, but the first quarter was a battle back and forth leaving the score 14-12 Jennies going into the second quarter.
• The second quarter is when the Jennies got into their grove and shot 60-percent from the field going into the half leading by 10, 37-27.
• UCM took over in the third quarter.
Megan Skaggs went 3-4 from the field and grabbed four rebounds, three offensive. The Jennies took their largest lead of the game, by 23 ending the third 63-40.
• In the final quarter, the Jens solidified the win, by holding the Blue Tigers scoreless for just over four minutes leaving the final score 77-58.
It Was Over When...
• Up seven early in the second half, the Jennies went on a 13-0 run to push the lead to 19 with 6:27 left in the third.
Megan Skaggs knocked in back-to-back three-pointers and
Morgan VanHyfte followed with a triple of her own. The Jennies led by double-digits the rest of the way.

Megan Skaggs finished with a game-high 19 points and grabbed 12 boards for a double-double. She was 4-6 from three.

Paige Redmond scored 15 with five assists and four rebounds.

Morgan Fleming added 10 points with seven rebounds and a game-high six assists.

Morgan VanHyfte chipped in eight points and
Kim Crown put in nine.
For the Blue Tigers
• Bre Coleman was 6-12 from the floor and scored 17 points with a team-best eight rebounds.
• Alecia Kaelke added 13 points going 6-9 and Alecia Gulledge scored 11.
• Zhanesha Dickerson scored nine and dished out four assists while Kaloni Pryear added eight points.
