Jennies and Lions Draw in Double Overtime

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (September 28, 2018)-- Jennies Soccer battled Missouri Southern at Jennies Field for their first draw of the season. The Jennies are now 8-1-1 overall, and 2-0-1 in the MIAA.

How It Happened
• Senior Courtney Killian was first on the board for the Jennies in the 8th minute to start off the game 1-0.
• In the 29th minute Jada Scott execute a direct kick perfectly and the ball hits the upper left corner for another Jennies goal 2-0.
• The last goal in the first half came in the 45th minute, when Sarah Tatum scores a goal for the Lions assisted by Jessica Edwards leaving the score 2-1.
• With the second half of play underway the Lions were still fighting, as Julia Liberty scores a shot from the middle assisted by Alex McCord from the Lions.
• That goal from the Lions tied the game 2-2, and two overtimes later the MIAA matchup ended with draw.
• The Lions outshot the Jennies 20-16.

Jennies Stat Leaders
• Courtney Killian had one goal, and  one shot on goal for the Jennies,
• Jada Scott had one goal, two shots, and one shots on goal for the Jennies. 
• Maria Wilder led the Jens in shots with five on the match.
• Goalkeeper Jordyn Atagi grabbed seven saves for the Jennies, and faced 20 shots.

For the Lions
• Julia Liberty led the Lions with one goal, four shots, and one shot on goal.
• Sarah Tatum added one goal,and one shot on goal 
•  Meredith Belrose added four shots and four shots on goal for the Lions.
• Goalkeeper Luz Galindo grabbed four saves for the Lions, and faced 16 shots.

News and Notes
• Jada Scott's goal in today's game was her 10th on the season. 
• Courtney Killian scored her sixth goal of the season in this MIAA match-up.
