JOPLIN, Mo. (Sept. 28, 2018) - Central Missouri Jennies Volleyball picked up their second three-game sweep of the week, this time defeating Missouri Southern 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-11). The win puts UCM at 14-4 for the season and 4-2 in the MIAA.
How it Happened
• The Jennies hit .245 as the team while the Lions were under .100 at .053.
• The Jens also picked up points with six blocks to the Lions one, and were helped out by three Lions ball-handling errors.Â
• The opening set saw the Lions score the first four points. They held the lead for much of the set. A 6-0 Jennies run gave them their first lead 15-14 and
Carly Offerdahl made it 16-14 with a service ace. Missouri Southern stayed in the game, tying it once again at 17-all. The Jens got the ball back after a service error and another ace, this time from
Ally Offerdahl made it 19-17 and the Jens never looked back.
Rylee Neigenfind and
Audrey Fisher ended the frame with back-to-back-kill.
• Set two wasn't much different than the first. The Lions raced out to a 6-1 lead, but again couldn't hang on. The Jennies tied at 10 thanks to consecutive kills from Fisher. Missouri Southern regained the lead and were ahead 19-16. Kills from Fisher and
Aubree Bell and an ace from
Abby Skrastins brought it back to a tie at 19-all, but the Lions again went back on top. After that, UCM scored the final five points, the last three from Missouri Southern errors for a 25-21 win.
• The third set was all Jennies. The led wire-to-wire in a 25-11 win. UCM scored seven of the first eight points and 10 of the final 13 in a 25-11 match clincher.
Jennies Stat Leaders

Rylee Neigenfind finished with a game-high 12 kills. She also had four digs and two blocks.
• Aubrey Fisher also finished in double-figures with 10 kills.

Ally Offerdahl passed out 31 assists and shared the match-lead with 13 digs and landed a pair of service aces.

Kylie Hohlen scored seven kills and had eight digs.
•
Carly Offerdahl picked up 13 digs.
For the Lions
• Bridgette Jaeger led the team with eight kills.
• Alicia Pickett and Shaylon Sharp each had seven kills.
• Kylee Kaaikue passed out 23 assists.
• Morgan Nash led the team with 11 digs.

• The Lions .053 attack percentage is the lowest UCM has held an opponent to this season. It is also the second straight match they've kept an opponent below .100.
