No. 8 Jennies defeat Bearcats at Home

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (September 28, 2018)-- Jennies Soccer improved their record to 2-0 in the MIAA and 8-1-0 overall after defeating Southwest Baptist 3-1.

How It Happened
• The Bearcats were quick to score in just the third-minute Tessa Wagner put the Bearcats on the board 1-0.
• Jada Scott had an answer in the 13th minute and put the Jens on the board with an assist from Makayla Toth.
• In the 34th minute a handball resulted in a penalty-kick, senior Jada Scott took the kick for the Jennies and improved their lead 2-1.
• With the second half of play underway, Makayla Martin comes down in the 54th minute with a header assisted my Haley Freeman for the final goal of the game leaving the score 3-1 for a Jennies win.
• The Jennies outshot the Bearcats 24-16.

Jennies Stat Leaders
• Jada Scott led the Jennies with two goals, nine shots, six shots on goal.
• Makayla Martin had one goal, three shots, and two shots on goal for the Jennies. 
• Makayla Toth and Haley Freeman both added one assist. Freeman also had two shots on the evening.
• Maria Wilder added two shots and two shots on goal.
• Goalkeeper Jordyn Atagi grabbed six saves for the Jennies, and faced 16 shots.

For the Bearcats
• Tessa Wagner score the one and only goal, adding two shots and one shot on goal.
• Raegan Edwards led the Bearcats in shots with seven and five shots on goal.
• Goalkeeper Ashlyn Gibbs grabbed nine saves for the Bearcats, and faced 23 shots.

News and Notes
• Jada Scott's two goals in this match improve her to a total of nine goals on the season.
• Makayla Martin scored her first career goal as a Jennie in the 3-1 victory. .
