EDMOND, Okla. (March 23, 2018) – Third-ranked Central Missouri Mules Baseball saw their eight game road winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon as they fell 4-3 to the Central Oklahoma Bronchos Friday afternoon at Wendell Simmons Field.
Play-by-Play
• UCM (20-5, 11-3 MIAA) jumped up 1-0 in the top of the first inning.
Mason Janvrin was hit by pitch to leadoff the game. He then stole second and made it home off a line out to center field by
Travis Able.
• The Bronchos (20-8, 12-2 MIAA) tied the game right away. Paul Kropf got on base with a single through the left side. A ground out got him to second and he crossed home plate on a UCM throwing error.
• The game remained a 1-1 tie until the bottom of the third. A fielding error by the Mules help Dayne Sommer get on base. Two batters later, Trae Smith homered to right center to give UCO a 3-1 edge.
• UCM responded in the top of the fifth and tied the game, 3-3.
Donovan Ditto led off with a single and Janvrin got him to second with a base hit as well. Both stole the next base and were plated home off a two RBI single from Webb.
• The Bronchos retook the lead in the seventh after both teams went scoreless in the sixth. Kropf gave the Bronchos the final lead, 4-3, with a solo home run to center field.
• The Mules got a runner in scoring position in the eighth, but UCO kept him stranded and closed the top of the ninth out with a 1-2-3 inning to seal the game and take the series opener.
Mules Stat Leaders
• Webb led the way with two hits in four at bats, with two RBI.
• Ditto finished 2-3, with a run scored.
• Janvrin was 1-3 on the day, with two runs scored.

Coby Seiz suffered his first loss of the season on the mound (1-1) as he gave up one earned run in 1.1 innings pitched.
For the Bronchos
• Kropf was 2-3 in the opener, with a RBI and two runs scored.
• Smith went 1-4, with a run scored and two RBI.
• Taylor Avila had two hits in four at bats.
• Lemoine earned the win to improve to 6-1. In 7.1 innings pitched, he struck out eight batters, while giving up three runs, all earned, on six hits.
• Josh Rutland picked up the save. He pitched one inning and did not give up a hit, while striking out one batter.

• The loss snaps the Mules eight game road winning streak and it is just their second loss on the road this year. The loss also snaps a three game overall winning streak for the Mules.
• UCM is now 47-32 on the road under
Kyle Crookes.
• The Mules have now lost two straight to the Bronchos, dating back to last season. They are now 7-6 against them under
Kyle Crookes.
• UCM is now 2-1 this season when scoring 3-5 runs.
