WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Feb. 8, 2018) - No. 4 Central Missouri's 16 game win streak came to an end Wednesday night, as UCM suffered their first loss since Nov. 19, 68-63 at the hands of Pittsburg State. The loss is the Jennies first conference loss this season and moves them to 19-2 and 13-1 in the MIAA.

How it Happened
• Neither team ever held a double-digit lead and the game saw seven ties and six lead changes, most of that coming in the final frame.
• Both teams shot the ball well with UCM holding a slight advantage, at 45% to 43%.
• The Gorillas knocked in four more three-pointers, going 9-27 while the Jens were just 5-18 from behind the arc.
• Pittsburg State had a big advantage on the glass pulling down 16 more rebounds, 41-25. That is a season-low for the Jennies this season.
• The Gorillas were able to score seven second-chance points, while UCM was scoreless.
• Helped out by Meghan Maher, the Gorilla bench outscored UCM 20-5.
• The Jennies did a good job with ball control, committing only nine turnovers while forcing 15.
• Central Missouri led for a majority of the game, 30:46 as a matter of fact. The Jens raced out to an 11-2 lead in the first quarter as PSU was just 1-10 to start.
• The Gorillas got hot at the end of the quarter and after 10 minutes, it was 19-15 UCM.
• Central Missouri's lead stayed between 1-6 for the entire second quarter, as PSU hit timely three's to stay at arm's length. A layup with less than 10 seconds left from Athena Alvardo made it a three-point game, 31-28 at the half.
• Pitt State struggled out the gates in the second half and the Jennies extended their lead back to nine, 37-28, their largest of the game.
• PSU didn't score their first basket of the half until the 4:50 mark, a three from Maher. They continued to chip away at the lead and kept it a three-point game with a last second jumper from Athena Alvarado.
• Using that momentum, the Gorillas took over the fourth quarter, outscoring UCM 24-16. They went 8-13 and added six free throws.
• After a Mikaela Burgess three tied things for the third time, Madison Northcutt gave the Gorillas the lead.
• The Jennies continued to answer as the back-and-forth fourth quarter saw six ties and five lead changes. Sydney Crockett put UCM back up by one with a three, 63-62, but Maher nailed a three of her own with 45 seconds left. After UCM missed on the ensuing possession, they were forced to foul and PSU went 3-4 at the line in the final 30 seconds.

It Was Over When...
• Trailing by one, Pittsburg State's Meghan Maher gave the Gorillas the lead for good with a three with 45 seconds left to play. Paige Redmond's attempt to answer rattled out and the Jennies never scored again.
