ST. CLOUD, Minn. (Feb. 24, 2018)-- Central Missouri Mules Wrestling totaled 22 teams points to finish 12th in the field of 15 teams at the Central Super Regional on Saturday. Two of the three Mules that made it to day two placed in
Allan Person and
Jesse Reser.
Person went 2-1 on day two at 174 pounds to place fifth. Reser was 0-3 and grabbed a sixth place finish.
Daide Agnew was 2-1 entering the day, but dropped his opening match to finish 2-2 overall.
Person started the day with an overtime sudden victory over Tyler Harrington of Maryville. The two were tied 5-5 going into the overtime period and Person secured a 7-5 win with a two-point takedown. He dropped his next match via a 17-0 technical fall in 2:45. Person's final win was a back-and-forth affair against Jordan Gundrum of Upper Iowa. He scored a 9-6 decision to advance to the fourth place match. Person did not wrestle in the fourth place match as his opponent was Lukas Poloncic of Augustana, who defeated him in hsi very first match of the regional. By rule, Poloncic was declared the winner, giving Person the fifth place finish.
Reser's first loss of the day was a 13-4 major decision against Seth Elwood of Minnesota State-Mankato. His second loss was a spirited bout against Qiante Wagner of McKendree. Wagner held on for the 9-7 decision victory. In the fifth place match, Reser fell to MIAA foe Austin Stofer of Lindenwood via a 13-3 major decision.Â
