Jennies Crush Lincoln, 80-55

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Feb. 15, 2018) - Central Missouri stormed the state capitol Thursday night and took down Lincoln University 80-55. The win is the Jennies 21st of the season, putting them at 21-2 this season and 15-1 MIAA.

How it Happened
• The Jennies were on fire all night long, shooting 51% from the floor and draining 11 three-pointers. UCM held the Blue Tigers to shooting under 40% at 39.3%. They were just 3-19 from three.
• Ten different Jennies scored in the game and all 13 who dressed saw action on the floor.
• Central Missouri forced Lincoln into 20 turnovers and scored 28 points off LU giveaways.
• The Jens did damage in the paint, outscoring Lincoln 36-28. The teams were even at 34 in rebounding. The Jennies pulled down 10 offensive rebounds and scored eight second chance points. 
• The Jennies scored 25 seconds into the game and never trailed. They built an early 8-0 lead and led by 15, 25-10 after the first quarter.
• Central Missouri took their first 10-point lead of the game at the 5:41 mark of the first quarter, 14-4, and kept the lead in double-digits the rest of the way.  
• Lincoln started the second half out well, cutting the 17-point lead down to 13 midway through, but UCM took over from there, going on a 17-2 run to lead by 30, 65-35 after three quarters. The Jens splashed three triples in the final three minutes, two by Sydney Crockett and one by Peyton Taylor.
• The Jennies emptied their bench in the fourth quarter, getting contributions from everyone who dressed and cruised to a 25-point win.

It Was Over When...
• With a tired Lincoln team, who was playing their third game in six days, the Jennies took advantage scoring the first eight points of the game, two and a half minutes in. It was all UCM after that as the Blue Tigers never stood a chance. 

Jennies Stat Leaders
• Paige Redmond led all scorers with 18 points. she was 7-12 from the field and 2-4 from three. She also picked up a season-high seven assists.
• Sydney Crockett hit double-digits for the fifth time this season. She scored 13 and was 4-6 from three point land.
• Morgan Fleming picked up 10 points on 4-9 shooting. 
• Peyton Taylor and Kayonna Lee led the team with five rebounds apiece. Taylor also scored seven points and Lee blocked two shots. 
• Megan Skaggs was 4-8 from the floor, scoring nine points. 
• The Jennies bench scored 36 points. In addition to Crockett and Taylor, Jolene Shipps scored seven, Kendra Gladbach five and Sydney Skaggs four.

For the Blue Tigers
• Bre Coleman scored 17 points and was 8-9 from the floor. She also pulled down five rebounds.
• Faith Brintle came off the bench to score 11 points.
• CeCe Lopez scored seven points and had two assists and four steals
• Lajanea Kimbrough scored four points and had five rebounds.

News and Notes
• Redmond moved into sole possession of 25th place on the Jennies all-time scoring list. She is now at 1,056 career points.
• The Jennies have now scored 80 points in back-to-back games.
• Defensively, UCM has help opponents to fewer than 60 points 14 times.
• UCM moves to 55-3 all-time against Lincoln.
• This season, UCM is 7-0 in road games in 9-0 overall in games away from Warrensburg.

Up Next
• The Jennies conclude their three game road trip Saturday, taking on Lindenwood. The Lions are 14-11 overall and 6-10 in the MIAA. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
