WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Feb. 1, 2018) – No. 6 ranked Central Missouri women's basketball battled it out against No. 21 Central Oklahoma, but it was the Jennies who came out victorious by the score of 64-58. The win was the Jennies 15th straight win to improve their record to 18-1 overall and 12-0 in the MIAA.
How It Happened
• Both teams ended the game with a low shooting percentage. The Bronchos barely bested the Jens by shooting 37.3% (22-59) from the floor, while UCM shot 36.5% (23-63).
• The Jennies scored 16 points off the Bronchos 13 turnovers.
• The game was hard fought by both teams as the score went back and forth. There were 18 lead changes and eight tied scores.

Kayonna Lee scored the first points of the game on a layup, but the Bronchos quickly answered and went on an 11-0 scoring run.
• The Jens didn't stay down long before they started a scoring run of their own.
Paige Redmond sparked the offense with a made jumper.
Morgan Fleming and
Kelsey Williams followed with a 3-pointer each.
Megan Skaggs added two to put the Jennies up by one point, 12-11.
• At the end of the first period, Central Missouri led by six.
• The Bronchos outscored the Jennies in the second quarter 19-12. In that quarter alone, there were nine lead changes and three ties.
• Lee started off the second half the same way she did the first half, with a successful layup to get the Jennies rolling and put them up by one again, 36-35.
• The score continued to go back-and-forth in the third quarter, but the Jennies stayed strong and made some timely buckets.
Kelsey Williams sunk a free throw with nine seconds left in the quarter to tie the game at 48.

Morgan Fleming came out firing in the fourth period. She had nine points in that quarter, including a big jump shot at 9:37 to give the Jennies momentum.
• Central Missouri went on an 8-2 scoring run after Fleming's score and continued to make big shots for the rest of the quarter. The Jennies led by as many as eight points and outscored their opponents 16-10.
It Was Over When...
The Jennies entered the fourth quarter tied 48-all.
Morgan Fleming led the charge with a jump shot just 23 seconds into the final period.
Kayonna Lee scored on the Jennies next possession and Central Missouri never looked back as they maintained the lead for the remainder of the game.
Jennies Stat Leaders

Morgan Fleming was the leading scorer for the Jens. She finished the game with 21 points and held onto five rebounds.

Kayonna Lee achieved a double-double, as she grabbed a game high 12 rebounds and scored 11. She also recorded a steal and a block.

Paige Redmond had 15 points on 6-13 shooting and 2-4 from behind the arc.

Megan Skaggs chipped in eight points and four rebounds.

Kelsey Williams struggled a little offensively, scoring just four points, but she was able to help out on defense. She pulled down five rebounds and had a steal.

Sydney Crockett came off the bench and added five points to the score. Additionally, she grabbed three rebounds and handed out an assist.
For the Bronchos
• Melinda Murillo scored a team high 21 points. She was 8-20 from the floor and had three 3-pointers.
• Jesheon Cooper recorded a double-double with her 10 points and 10 rebounds. She also had two blocks against the Jennies.
• Blake Blessington went 4-9 and scored nine. She also dished out two assists.

• The Jennies are now 7-2 against the Bronchos, snapping a two game losing streak against the team.

Megan Skaggs eclipsed 500 career point as a Jennie on a made free throw in the fourth quarter.
• At 12-0, the Jennies have a 2.5 game lead in the MIAA over second-place Nebraksa-Kearney and Pittsburg State, who are both 9-3.
