KEARNEY, Neb. (Nov. 9, 2018) - Central Missouri Jennies Volleyball's hopes at an MIAA title were dashed Friday night by top-seed Nebraska-Kearney. The Lopers defeated the Jennies 3-0 in the MIAA semifinal round, 25-11, 25-22, 25-21. The Jennies are now 25-7 on the season.
How it Happened
• The Jennies had one of their worst hitting performances of the season with 27 errors and a .036 attack percentage.Â
• UCM didn't help themselves with five service errors and two blocking errors while the Lopers were able to pick up 14 blocks.
• Central Missouri scored the first two points of the match and held a one-point lead in set one, 5-4. From there, UNK went on an 8-1 run to take a lead and never looked back. Leading 16-10, the Lopers scored eight straight points and handedly took the opening set, 25-11. The Lopers hit .429 in the frame while UCM was in the negatives with seven kills and nine errors.
• Set two looked like it was going to be a repeat of the first until the Jens clawed back into the game. The Lopers got on top early, 14-4 and held a 12-point lead, 20-8. From there the Jennies stormed back with seven straight points getting three kills and two blocks. UCM cut the lead all the way down to two, 23-21 and 24-22, but ran out of time as the Lopers staved off the comeback attempt with a 25-22 win.
• The third set was by-far the closest with 13 ties and eight lead changes. Nebraska-Kearney went on top early, 4-1, but the Jens quickly tied and took the lead with two kills and a block making it a 5-4 game. The teams went back-and-forth trading points and UCM took their first two-point lead of the set 18-16 following a block from
Aubree Bell and
Audrey Fisher. All that momentum quickly vanished though and the Lopers ended the set and the match on a 9-3 run taking set three 25-21.

Audrey Fisher finished with a game-high 10 kills and landed four blocks.
•
Kylie Hohlen picked up nine kills and 16 digs.

Carly Offerdahl led the defense with 34 digs.

Ally Offerdahl recorded a double-double with 30 assists and 13 digs.

Rylee Neigenfind chipped in eight kills.
For the Lopers
• Kendall Schroer and Julianne Jackson each had a team-best nine kills. Jackson added 19 digs.
• Lindsey Smith passed out 32 assists and dug out 16 UCM attacks.
• Ellie McDonnell led the defense with 26 digs with Morgan Stute adding 23.
• Mackenzie Puckett scored 10 points with seven kills and six blocks.

Kylie Hohlen went over 900 career kills. She is the only player in Jennies history with more than 900 kills and 1900 digs.
• This makes three straight seasons the Jennies lost in the MIAA semifinals to a top-seeded Loper team.
• Central Missouri has lost seven straight to Nebraska-Kearney and now trail the all-time series 13-12.
• The Jennies .036 hitting percentage was their lowest of the season.
