KEARNEY, Neb. (Nov. 15, 2018) - Central Missouri Jennies Volleyball season ended Thursday afternoon in the NCAA Regional Quarterfinal round against second-seeded Minnesota Duluth. The Jens played three hard sets, but fell 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 26-24). UCM ends the season at 25-8.
How it Happened
• The Jennies hit just .140 as a team compared to the Bulldogs .205.
• Central Missouri scored 11 points on blocks.
• Minnesota Duluth landed 51 kills to the Jennies 31.
• Set one was all Bulldogs. After the set was tied at two, UMD went on a 12-2 run to open up a 14-4 lead and never looked back. They went on to win by that same 10-point margin 25-15.
• It was the Jennies in set two who took a big lead, but were unable to hang on. The Jens scored the first five points, racing out with three kills from
Hannah Engelken to open the set. They led by as much as seven, 9-2 following back-to-back
Hannah VanBuskirk kills. The Bulldogs slowly marched back though and tied the frame for the first time, 19-19 and took their first lead one point later. A 7-0 run turned a 19-17 Jennies lead into a 24-19 Bulldog lead as they went on to win 25-22.
• The third and final set was tight throughout. Minnesota-Duluth scored the first three points and the Jennies quickly answered with three of their own. The teams remained deadlocked at 13-13 when UMD scored three straight for a 16-13 lead. They held that lead and were at match-point 24-20 when the Jennies tied with four straight points.
Aubree Bell had two kills and the Jens put down two blocks, the second by Bell and Fisher to tie. Following a UMD timeout, the Bulldogs got two straight points to take the set and the match, 26-24.
Jennies Stat Leaders

Hannah Engelken scored 12.5 points with a team-best 10 kills and five total blocks.

Rylee Neigenfind added seven kills with just one attack error and four blocks.

Audrey Fisher landed five kills and put down six blocks.

Kylie Hohlen led the defense with 12 digs.

Ally Offerdahl passed out 25 assists and added eight digs.
•
Carly Offerdahl chipped in nine digs and a service aces.
For the Bulldogs
• Berg scored a match-high 12 kills and earned a double-double with 13 digs.
• Seiffert dug out a match-high 21 attacks.
• Meyer, Morgen, and Kelly all had nine kills.
• Torve dished out 45 assists.
• Thor had a team-high five blocks and added eight kills.

• The Jennies played in their 34th NCAA Regional Tournament and first since 2015.

Kylie Hohlen finishes her career with 1,996 digs, the fifth most in team history.
•
Audrey Fisher's five blocks put her over 100 for the season. With Fisher and Engelken, the Jennies have two individuals with more than 100 blocks in a season since 2009.
• With their 11 blocks, the Jennies ended the year with eight matches with 10 or more blocks.
• The last two times the Jennies and Bulldogs have met has been in the NCAA Regional Quarterfinals with the Bulldogs winning each match.
