MARYVILLE, Mo. (Nov. 6, 2018) - No. 11 Central Missouri Jennies Volleyball moves on in the MIAA postseason to the semifinals with their 3-1 win over fourth-seeded Northwest Missouri State, 3-1 (25-15, 25-17, 24-26, 25-17). The win is the Jennies 25th of the season, putting them at 25-6 this year.
How it Happened
• The Jennies scored 73 points and hit .244 while the Bearcats hit just .109.
• UCM had a big advantage in blocks with 11 while the Bearcats put back just two.
• Clean game for the Jennies on serves with no reception errors and just two service errors.
• Set one saw the Jennies break away in the middle of the set. Leading by one, 8-7, the Jens went on a big 11-3 run and went on top 19-10. From there, the Jennies were able to cruise to a 10-point win, 25-15.
Kylie Hohlen landed seven kills in the set.
• The Jennies led early and often in set two. They went on top 11-5 forcing a Bearcat timeout. Still ahead five, 14-9, Northwest mounted a comeback to get to within one, 14-13, but the Jennies held strong, going back up four 20-16 with kills from
Hannah Engelken and
Rylee Neigenfind and forcing another timeout. Out of the break, NWMSU hit three straight attack errors and UCM went on to a 2-0 lead with a 25-17 win.
• Wild set three saw both teams make dramatic comebacks. The Jennies trailed by as many as six, 17-11 before storming back with a 7-1 run tying on
Hannah Engelken kill. The Bearcats retook a three-point edge, 21-18 and the Jennies were again there to stop the run. A rare kill from
Carly Offerdahl retied the set at 21-all. The Jens held match point, 24-22, but four straight points gave the Bearcats the set, 26-24.
• The fourth and final set was tight at the beginning until the Jens pulled away. Tied at 11, the Jennies used another 7-1 run, just like the previous set, and took an 18-12 lead. They held on to win by eight, 25-17.
Jennies Stat Leaders

Kylie Hohlen led the way with 16 kills and 33 digs.

Hannah Engelken and
Audrey Fisher each landed 12 kills and hit better than .400 for the match. Engelken also put back six blocks and Fisher five.

Ally Offerdahl passed out 48 assists and claimed 16 digs.
•
Rylee Neigenfind finished with a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs.
•
Carly Offerdahl helped the defense with 20 digs.
For the Bearcats
• Maddy Bruder finished with a game-high 20 kills. She also had seven digs and 35 service receptions.
• Maddy Ahrens also had a game-high 50 assists and finished with a double-double with 18 digs.
• Olivia Nowakowski led the Bearcat defense with 32 digs.
• Halle Sidney landed 12 kills with six digs.
News and Notes
• The Jennies take the season series with the Bearcats 2-1. The Jennies won the last two after losing the first of the year in Maryville.

Kylie Hohlen's 33 digs are a season high and just three behind her career-high of 36.
•
Carly Offerdahl surpassed 1,100 career digs in the win. Her kill in the third set was just the 10th of her career.

Rylee Neigenfind's double-double was her second of the season.
• The Jennies two service errors are their fewest of the season.
• Northwest hit .408 the first time the Jennies visited Maryville this season, and this almost 300 points fewer tonight at .109.
