Jennies Soccer Shutout Lions in Quarterfinals

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Oct. 31, 2018) - Central Missouri Soccer shutout Lindenwood in the first round of the MIAA Tournament. The Jennies are now preparing for the semi-finals and improve to 15-3-1 overall.

How it Happened
•  The Jens were the first and last to score in the first half of play.
• In the 10th minute of play, Makayla Toth gave the Jennies the upper hand running left side to find the net and give the Jennies a 1-0 lead.
• Starting the second half leading 1-0, Jada Scott broke the silence in the 46th minute when she broke away and dribbled up the middle of the field for another Jennies goal extending their lead.
• With the Jennies leading 2-0, Kelsey Mueller found Jada Scott for the header in the 51st minute that hit right in the middle of the net to lead 3-0.
• The Jens cliched the win in the 83rd minute when freshman Payge Bush scored the final goal to give UCM the victory 4-0.

Jennies Stat Leaders
• Jada Scott added two goals, seven shots, and four shots on goal in her 52 minutes of play.
• Makayla Toth contributed one goal, one shot,  and one shot on goal on the day.
Payge Bush added one goal for the Jennies, two shots and one shot on goal in the match. 
• Goalkeeper Lindsey Johnson faced nine shots and grabbed five saves for the day.

For the Lions
• Katie Richter led Lindenwood with three shots and two shots on goal in her 78 minutes of play.
• Sami Gregory added two shots and one shot on goal in the match. 
• Goalkeeper Megan Swanson had five saves on the day and faced 17 shots.

News and Notes
• The two goals from Jada Scott now put her at 15 goals on the season. 
• Payge Bush's goal in the match was her first goal as a Jennie. 
• The goal from Makayla Toth was her ninth goal on the season.
