WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Sept. 22, 2017)-- In a battle of two unbeaten teams ranked in the top-25 in Division II women's soccer, the fourth-ranked Central Missouri Jennies Soccer team (7-0) held off the No. 23 Missouri Western State Griffons (6-1) with a 2-0 shutout Friday night at Jennies Field.
How It Happened
• The Jennies scored both goals in under three minutes and never looked back against the Griffons. The rest of the game was a defensive battle that UCM won holding Missouri Western scoreless for all 90 minutes of action to stay unbeaten.

Kayla Hamner scored the gamewinning goal in less than minute. At 0:21 mark she hit her shot from the left side of the field from 30 yards out into the high right corner of the net past the goalkeeper's reach.

Baylie Edwards pushed the Jennies lead to 2-0 scoring on a free kick after being fouled by a Griffon defender.
• The Griffons did outshoot the Jennies 12-7 in the first period, but the Jennies held the shots on goal advantage at 5-4.
• UCM controlled the pace of the second period outshooting Missouri Western 11-6 overall and 6-1 in shots on goals.
Stat Leaders
• Hamner led the way for the Jennies with four total shots, three of them being on goal, and one goal. She now has two goals on the season.

Makayla Toth had three shots, two of which were on goal, while Edwards and
Abby Rhodes each had two shots, both on goal, respectively. Edwards' goal moves her season total to four.

Ana Dilkes grabbed five saves as she posted her seventh straight shutout of the season.
For the Griffons
• Cassidy Menke entered tonight's game as the leading scorer in Division II, but was held scoreless as she had six shots to lead Missouri Western.
• Madeline Cowell and Taylor Schwartzkopf both had three total shots, with one being on goal, respectively.
• In net, Sarah Lyle had nine saves in 18 shots faced while allowing two goals.
News and Notes
• The Jennies defense allowed season-high 18 shots, but only five were on goal as they posted their seventh straight shutout. The is the second year in a row UCM has posted seven straight shutouts.
• With her shutout, Dilkes becomes just the second player in Division II history to post 50 career shutouts. She is already the MIAA record holder in career shutouts.
