Fifth Ranked Jennies Rout Bulldogs in Season Opener

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Aug. 31, 2017)-- The fifth-ranked Central Missouri Jennies Soccer team came out with a strong win to start the 2017 campaign as they routed preseason GAC favorite Southwestern Oklahoma State, 4-0, Thursday afternoon at Jennies Field.

She popped the ball over the defender's head and sent it to the right side of the net in the 13th minute. With the 1-0 lead, UCM paced the way for a dominant game.

The lead jumped to 2-0 for UCM at the 27th minute when Scott played a right side pass from freshman Makayla Toth into the middle of the box where she shot the ball into high middle end of the net pass the goalkeeper's reach. The goal is Scott's first of the year and the assist for Toth is her first in a Jennie uniform.

The Jennies held the 2-0 lead going into halftime and outshot the Bulldogs 13-6 in the first half. The Jennies had eight shots on goal while the Bulldogs had five.

The second half continued to go in favor for UCM when Rhodes scored her second goal of the game at 55 minute mark, pushing the lead to 3-0. Her second goal was nearly exact to her first as she took the ball from 40 yards out and got into the left inside of the box, hitting the ball to the right end of the net.

The Jennies added one last goal for safe measure when Broady scored on a penalty kick in the 69th minute to put UCM up 4-0. The goal is Broady's first in a Jennie uniform.
