MARSHALL, Mo. (Feb. 4, 2017)-- Less than a day after competing in a dual against Nebraska-Kearney, the Central Missouri Mules Wrestling team sent a handful of wrestlers to compete at the Missouri Valley College Open Saturday morning.
Ben Lancaster led the way for the Mules going 1-2 on the day at 197 pounds. In his first match of the day, Lancaster was pinned in 4:58. He received a bye in the consolation bracket, then picked up his only win via a medical forfeit, but dropped a 5-0 decision in the next round.
The other Mules that competed on Saturday were
Braxton Sparks at 149 pounds,
Zane Heiter at 157 pounds, and
Dylan Lewis at 165 pounds.
UCM's next dual will be at home on Thursday, Feb. 9, against No. 6 McKendree for senior night. Action will get underway at 7 p.m. at Multi.
