Jennies Soccer Extends Winning Streak to 12

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Oct. 8, 2017)-- Despite tough and muddy field conditions, second-ranked Central Missouri Jennies Soccer (12-0-0, 5-0-0 MIAA) shutout undefeated Northeastern State (10-1-0, 4-1-0 MIAA) 5-0 Sunday afternoon at Jennies Field.

How It Happened
• The Jennies controlled the entirety of the match not allowing a single goal by the RiverHawks. 
• In the first period, the Jennies scored three goals while taking 10 shots overall and seven shots on goal. 
• Jada Scott got UCM up 1-0 at the 1:30 mark, nailing a header into the right corner of the net off a blocked shot by Abby Rhodes.
• The Jennies pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 13th minute. Megan Woolley hit the high right of the net from inside of the box off a deflection.
• Kayla Hamner added to the lead in the 31st minute. She played a pass from Scott on the left wing and hit the left end of the net from the middle of the box.
• Going into halftime with a 3-0 lead, UCM held NSU to three shots, with two being on goal.
• The Jennies continued to control the pace of the game in the second period scoring two more goals.
• Scott scored her second goal of the game in the 48th minute off a deflection by Woolley. She played the ball from the right wing and hit the left corner of the net.
• Hamner added the final goal and her second of the game in the 56th minute off an assist by Scott. She hit her shot from the middle of the box past the goalkeeper's reach to left corner of the net.
• For the game, The Jennies outshot the RiverHawks 25-9, with a 14-4 shots on goal advantage. 

Jennies Stat Leaders
• Scott led the way with six points on two goals and two assists. She took five shots overall with four shots on goal. She now has eight goals and six assists on the season.
• Hamner also had two goals on three shots, all of which were on goal. Woolley also had three shots, with two on goal while scoring one goal. Hamner and Woolley each have four goals on the season.
• In net, Ana Dilkes picked up four saves in nine shots faced. She has posted shutouts in all 12 wins this season.

For the RiverHawks
• Paulina Chavez and Lexi Blackwell were the only NSU players to take more than one shot. Both had two on the day.
• Goalkeeper Meg Smith took the loss giving up all five goals in 82 minutes of action while collecting nine saves.

News and Notes
• The Jennies continue to extend their MIAA record of consecutive shutouts to 12. Dilkes also added to her individual MIAA record with 12 straight.
• The Jennies have scored in 45 straight games now dating back to the 2015 season.
• Dilkes shutout on Sunday also puts her career total at 55. She need just five more to own the NCAA Division II record for career shutouts.

The Jennies have two more regular season games left at home. Friday, Oct. 8, UCM will host Emporia State for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
