Volleyball Drops Second Straight at MWSU

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (Oct. 28, 2017) - Jennies Volleyball lost their second straight match Saturday night at Missouri Western, 3-0 (22-25, 14-25, 15-25). The loss moves UCM to 20-7 and 10-4 in the MIAA. 

How it Happened
• The Jennies hit just .103 and had 22 attack errors while the Griffons hit .272.
• Central Missouri also had trouble on the serve committing 12 service errors.
• Missouri Western found success around the net with 11 blocks to the Jennies four.
• The Jennies took a large lead at the outset, going up 8-3 after a MWSU attack error. The lead was short lived though as the Griffons stormed back to tie at 16 and take a 17-16 lead. The Jennies got the lead back and went up two, 22-20, but the Griffons scored five straight to close the set on five consecutive kills.
• Central Missouri never led in sets two or three. The Griffons went up early in both, 10-4, and were able to cruise to victories of 25-14 and 25-15. 

Jennies Stat Leaders
Kasey Hohlen led the team with 12 kills.
Audrey Fisher had eight kills and two blocks.
Ally Offerdahl passed out 27 assists.
Kylie Hohlen finished with a game-high 22 digs.
• Fisher and Katie Carlson each had a service ace.

For the Griffons
• Stephanie Doak had a game-high 13 kills.
• Setter Lauren Murphy dished 31 assists.
• Kayla Ruff notched 18 digs.
• Ali Tauchen had 10 blocks including two solo.
• Shellby Taylor had seven kills and three blocks.

News and Notes
• The Jennies 12 service errors are their most this season.
• This is the first time this season the Jennies have lost back-to-back matches.
• The Jens have now split with Missouri Western each of the last three seasons.

Up Next
Central Missouri returns home next weekend. They host Washburn Friday night followed by Emporia State.
