KEARNEY, Neb. (Oct. 13, 2017) - Central Missouri Volleyball's four-match winning streak came to an end Friday night at the hands of old foe, Nebraska-Kearney 3-0 (20-25, 22-25, 25-27). All three sets were decided by five or less points in the hotly contested match. The loss puts the Jens at 16-5 this season and 7-2 in the MIAA.
How it Happened
• The Jennies hit just .071 for the match and committed 26 attack errors.
• Defensively, UCM picked up 83 digs and 10 blocks.
• The Lopers landed 43 kills to the Jennies' 37.
• The opening frame went back-and-forth at the outset. The Jens grabbed a 9-7 lead, but the Lopers scored three straight to take the lead and never looked back. They pushed their lead to four at 18-14 and went on to win 25-20.
Kylie Hohlen had nine digs in the set.
• Central Missouri held a lead late in set two, going up as much as four 14-10, and forcing a Loper timeout. They held that lead until UNK tied the set at 21-all. The Jens took a 22-21 lead on a kill from
Aubree Bell, but the Lopers answered with four straight points to steal the set, 25-22.
• The third set appeared as if it was all Nebraska-Kearney. They took their largest lead, 11-2 and were well on their way to an easy victory. The Jennies didn't quit though, and fought all the way back to tie the frame at 18-all. The teams traded points from there and UCM took their first lead of the set, 25-24 and a Loper attack error. The Jens couldn't quite complete the comeback though as a ball handling error gave the Lopers the ball back and they ended the match with a service ace and a kill.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• Of the Jennies 37 kills, 22 came from
Kasey Hohlen and Bell. Hohlen picked up a game-high 12 and Bell added 10.

Ally Offerdahl finished with her second straight double-double with 32 assists and 12 digs.

Kylie Hohlen dug out 25 Loper attacks and
Katie Carlson had 16.
•
Kasey Hohlen threw down six blocks on the night and Offerdahl and
Audrey Fisher added three.

Carly Offerdahl successfully received all 30 service reception attempts.
For the Lopers
• Tara Ziegelbein led the team with 11 kills and Kendall Schroer added 10 more.
• Morgan Stute has a team-best 21 digs while Elle McDonnell added 18.
• Lindsay Smith picked up a game-high 38 assists and had eight digs.
News and Notes
• The loss is the Jennies fourth straight to Nebraska-Kearney.
• UCM's 83 digs are their most this season.
• This is only the second time this season UCM has reached double-digit blocks.
• Of the Jennies five losses, this is the first time they have lost 3-0.
• The Jens .071 attack percentage is their lowest in any match this season and first time hitting below .100.

Central Missouri is off for the rest of the weekend. They are back home for the start of their final 10 games of the regular season. UCM hosts William Jewell in a nonconference tilt Tuesday, Oct. 17. It is the start of a four-game homestand for the Jens.
