WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Sept. 6, 2016)-- Jennies Soccer moved up to No. 4 in the latest NSCAA Poll after starting the season 2-0. The Jennies opened up their 2016 campaign with back-to-back 3-0 shutout wins at Southwestern Oklahoma State and against then No. 17 Augustana last weekend.
The Jennies are on this road this week against Northern Sun foes, Southwest Minnesota State and Minot State. The Jennies kick off against Southwest Minnesota State at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7. They travel to Minot State Saturday, Sept. 10 and kick off against the Beavers at 1 p.m.
The Week Ahead
• The Jennies start the season 2-0 after winning their season opener at Southwestern Oklahoma State 3-0, and their home opener 3-0 against No. 17 Augustana.
• UCM will be on the road this week for their next two games. The Jennies will take on two Northern Sun opponents in the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State and the Beavers of Minot State.
• The Jennies moved up in the NSCAA rankings and now sit No. 4 in the country after posting back-to-back 3-0 shutout wins last weekend. Senior

Series History
Southwest Minnesota: UCM leads 2-1
The Jennies last played the Mustangs in 2013 where they suffered their first loss against the Mustangs 3-1. UCM is 1-0 though in Marshall, Minn.
Minot State: UCM leads 4-0-1
UCM has won or tied every matchup against Minot State. These two teams met twice in 2015, with Jennies winning both times in shutouts.
Scouting the Competition
Southwest Minnesota State
• The Mustangs are 1-1 after the first week of competition. The Mustangs lost their season opener at home against Fort Hays State 1-0. They did bounce back in their second game beating MIAA foe Washburn University 1-0.
• The Mustangs finished 8-9-2 in 2015 overall, 8-6-1 in the NSIC, and look to improve on last years marks.
• Head Coach Erin Kasmarik-Mallett enters her second year with the Mustangs. The Mustangs finished seventh in 2015 under Mallett, making the NSIC Tournament, but were eliminated by the eventual champions Augustana (S.D.) 1-0.
• The Mustangs are preseason picked to finish 14th out of 16 teams in the NSIC.
• The Mustangs matchup with the Jennies will be their first since 2013 when they defeated UCM 3-1 in the first round of the NCAA Tournamnet. UCM leads the series 2-1, overall.
Minot State
• Minot State is 1-1 to start the 2016 season. They kicked off the season opener at home with a 4-0 victory over Black Hills State, but dropped their second match 2-1 against Fort Hays State.
• The Beavers look to build off a record setting 2015 season where the program won 16 games and earned their first ever birth in the NCAA Tournament.
• The Beavers finished the 2015 season 16-5-1 overall, and 12-2-1 in conference play.
• Minot State's match against the Jennies will be the sixth overall meeting between the two programs. Minot State faced UCM twice in 2015, the first being a regular season game and the second in the NCAA Tournament. The Jennies won both games 1-0 and 2-0, resepctively
• Minot State is 0-4-1 against the Jennies all-time and have been outscored 7-0 in the series.
