JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (April 3, 2016) -- The Mules hit three home runs to slug their way past Lincoln 13-5 on Sunday afternoon at the LU Baseball Field, completing the three-game sweep.
The Mules (19-8, 17-3 MIAA) got out to an early lead scoring four times in the top of the first. Lincoln (1-29, 0-20 MIAA) scored one in the first on a solo home run and another run in the second to pull within 4-2. The Blue Tigers plated another run in the third to pull within 4-3.
UCM pushed the lead back to two at 5-3 on a
Miles Orscheln RBI triple in the fifth, but Lincoln tied the game in the sixth with a two-run home run. UCM went back in front for good in the seventh, plating five runs to take a 10-5 lead.
John Fairchild hit a three-run home run and
Dylan Farrell added a solo shot for UCM.
The Mules pushed the lead to 13-5 in the top of the ninth on a Farrell three-run shot, his second of the day.
Ross Juliana (1-1) picked up the win in relief for the Mules.
