No. 4 Jennies Soccer dominant in 6-0 shutout over Southwest Baptist

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Oct. 23, 2016)-- The fourth-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer put on an a show on offense and dominated on defense yet again in a 6-0 shutout win over Southwest Baptist Sunday afternoon at Jennies Field. The Jennies go to 14-1 on the season and 8-1 in the MIAA.

Junior Megan Woolley and freshman Alex Harms each scored a pair of goals, while senior Hannah Pyle and redshirt sophomore Jada Scott both scored one a-piece. In net, junior Ana Dilkes picked up her 14th win of the season and has posted shutouts in all 14 wins, which is a career high for her in a season. Her previous best in a season was 13 shutouts which she did twice in 2014 and 2015.

The Jennies did not waste much time getting on the board, as Woolley nailed a header into the right side of the net off a pass from sophomore Courtney Killian in the eighth minute. Killian's assist was the just the first of three in the match for her.

Woolley continued to impress on offense when she sent a high pass to Scott inside the left end of the box for her to nail a head shot into the net in the 25th minute. Scott's header hit the inside of the left post and bounced in to give the Jennies a 2-0 lead. Woolley's assist is her third of the season.

Scott's goal is her ninth of the season and the 21st of her career. With her goal, she moves into a tie for 10th all-time in program history in career goals with Carley Stanley (2010-13).

Eight minutes later Woolley scored again for the Jennies in the 33rd minute. This time Woolley took a pass from junior Mikala Modiri from the right side of the box and nailed her shot from five yards out through the goalkeeper's hands. Modiri's assist is her second of the season.

Woolley's two goals bumped her total to four this season and her five points Sunday afternoon is a career high in a match. Her previous best was four, which she did twice.

In the second half, Pyle added to the Jennies lead at 49 minute mark as she handled a pass from junior Baylie Edwards down the middle and cut back to the left side to hit her shot from 10 yards out into the bottom left corner of the net pass the goalkeeper's reach. Pyle's goal is her fifth of the season and Edwards assist is her first of the season.

The Jennies did not slow down as Harms scored in the 83rd minute off a right side pass from Killian to the inside middle of the box where she sent it to the upper middle part of the net just pass the goalkeeper's reach.

Harms and Killian teamed up again in the 88th minute. Killian got to inside the middle of the box and passed it to Harms on the left side where she nailed her shot into the bottom left corner of the net. Harms two goals are a career high in a match and bumped her season total to four.

Killian's three assists are her first of the season and career high in a match. Her previous best was two against Minnesota-Duluth on Sept. 4, 2015.

Offensively, the Jennies had their best match of the season. They scored six goals, notched six assists, tallied 18 points, took 29 total shots, and 17 shots on goal, all of which were season highs. The Jennies have outshot their opponents a combined 91-32 in their current five game winning streak and have outscored them a combined 18-0.

The Jennies continued their trend of dominant defense as they held Southwest Baptist to just three shots. The Jennies have held their last four opponents to under ten total shots and still have yet to allow a goal in their 14 wins this season.

The Jennies will be home for the final two matches of the regular season. They will start with Lindenwood on Friday Oct. 28. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
