No. 4 Jennies Soccer Wins Fourth Straight Match in 3-0 Shutout Over Missouri Southern

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Oct. 21, 2016)-- The fourth ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer team continued their home dominance this season with a 3-0 shutout victory over Missouri Southern Friday night at Jennies Field. The Jennies improved to 13-1 overall, 7-1 in the MIAA, and 5-0 at home.

Sophomores Courtney Killian, Jada Scott, and junior Megan Woolley all scored in the Jennies win. In net, junior Ana Dilkes grabbed five saves and pitched her fourth straight shutout en route to her 13th win of the season. Dilkes matched career high in shutouts in a season with her 13th shutout Friday night.

The Jennies came out strong on offense and defense taking 11 shots in the first 20 minutes, five of which were on goal, and holding the Lions two three shots in the first half.

The team broke through in the 23rd minute when Killian took a pass from Woolley on the inside left corner of the box and nailed her shot over the goalkeeper's head into the upper left end of the net. Killian's goal and Woolley's assist are both their second of the season, respectively.

The Jennies did not score again until the 86th minute when Woolley scored her second goal of the season off an assist from senior Hannah Pyle. Woolley fielded Pyle's pass from inside the box and sent her shot into left corner before the keeper could make a play on it. Pyle's assist is her second of the season.

The Jennies were not done there though. With less than 10 seconds remaining in regulation, Scott got the ball at midfield, beat her defender down the middle and scored from 30 yards out. Scott's goal is her eighth of the season.

Offensively, the Jennies finished with 20 total shots and 11 shots on goal. The Jennies have outshot their opponents a combined 62-29 in their current four game winning streak and have outscored them a combined 9-0.

Defensively, the Jennies held the Lions to six total shots, five of which were on goal. The Jennies still have yet to allow a goal in their 13 wins this season. They have allowed just two goals all season, which is the least amount in program history through 14 games.

The Jennies will continue their home stand on Sunday, Oct. 23 against Southwest Baptist. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
