No. 2 Jennies Soccer Records Another Shutout in 7-0 Victory Over Lindenwood

Box Score (HTML) | Season Stats

WARRENSBURG, Mo. --
The No. 2 Jennies fought through bad weather and an hour-and-a-half rain delay to earn a 7-0 shutout over the visiting Lindenwood Lions on Friday evening.

The Jens started off the scoring in the 10th minute on forward Jada Scott's first goal of the season. Less than a minute later, forward Julie Ireland found the back of the net thanks to an assist from Hannah Pyle, to give the Jennies a 2-0 lead.

Lindenwood had their first shot of the game in the 18th minute, but goalkeeper Ana Dilkes kept Lindewood off of the board with a save.

Midfielder Taylor Thompson scored her first goal of the season in the 21st minute on a corner kick to give the Jens a 3-0 lead.

Forward Courtney Killian added to the lead with her first collegiate goal in the 39th minute, which she also scored on a corner kick.

Bad weather led to a delay during halftime, but the delay did not slow down the Jennies' momentum.

In the 70th minute of the match, Killian scored her second goal of the game by beating the goalkeeper one-on-one to give the Jens a 5-0.

Mikala Modiri scored her fourth goal of the year in the 82nd minute of the match off of a cross from Emily Griffin to extend UCM's lead to 6-0.

UCM's final goal of the night came in the final minute from forward Claire Richards who placed the ball over the goalkeeper's head from about 40 yards out for her first goal of the season.

Dilkes recorded four saves in the victory.

UCM outshot Lindenwood 18-6.

The victory improves UCM's record to 5-0-0, and the loss drops Lindenwood's record to 1-2-2.

The Jennies are in action Sunday afternoon at Northwest Missouri at 12 p.m.
