WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The No. 8 Jennies Soccer team defeated Minot State in a 1-0 shutout Saturday afternoon.

Minot State had the first scoring opportunity for either team early in the second minute, but a save from goalkeeper Ana Dilkes kept the game tied at zero.

The Jennies were able to get a few shots off in the first few minutes of the contest but could not find the back of the net on any of their opportunities.

The Jens scored the games first and only goal of the game when forward Julie Ireland kicked the ball over the head of the goalkeeper and into the top-right corner of the goal to give UCM a 1-0 lead. The goal was her fourth of the season.

Dilkes played all 90 minutes in goal for the Jennies, recording five saves in the victory. 

The Jens outshot Minot State 16-10.

The victory improves UCM's record to 4-0-0, while the loss drops Minot State to 2-1-0.

The Jennies are back in action Friday September 18, as they open MIAA play against Lindenwood at 7 p.m.
