Jennies Soccer pitches another shutout over Missouri Western in regular season finale

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Jennies Soccer team ended the regular season on a high note with a 1-0 shutout over Missouri Western Sunday afternoon.

The Jennies had the first shot of the day in the fourth minute when Julie Ireland attempted to head the ball into the net, but the Griffons' keeper made the save to keep the game scoreless. Missouri Western's first shot of the day came in the 10th minute, but a save from goalkeeper Ana Dilkes kept the Griffons off of the board.

The two teams traded shots for the remainder of the first half and both teams entered the half scoreless.

The Jens scored the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute of action when Megan Woolley scored her 10th goal of the season on a kick that sent the ball rolling through the arms of the goalkeeper.

Dilkes played all 90 minutes in goal for Central Missouri and recorded four saves in the shutout. She has 10 shutouts this season.

The win moves the Jennies to 16-2 overall and 9-2 in the MIAA, while Missouri Western falls to 9-7-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the MIAA.

The Jennies are back in action Wednesday at 7 p.m. as they host Washburn in an MIAA Quarterfinals matchup.
