WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The No. 10 Jennies Soccer team earned its 10th shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory over Missouri Western Friday evening.
Missouri Western had the first shot of the game in the third minute. Bridget Blessie beat all of the Jenny defenders and took on goalkeeper
Ana Dilkes on one-one-one. Blessie's shot went wide of the mark and the game remained scoreless.
Central Missouri's first shot of the game came in the seventh minute of play, but
Julie Ireland's shot missed wide.
The Jennies scored the first goal of the game in the 17th minute when she beat the goalkeeper and put the ball into the center of the net. The goal was her first of the year.
Baylie Edwards scored the second goal of the game in the 47th minute when the goalkeeper misplayed a previous shot and Edwards scored into the bottom right of the goal. The goal was her first of the season.
UCM's final goal came in the 55th minute when
Jada Scott took the ball down the field and shot to the right of the goalkeeper for her eighth goal of the season.
Ana Dilkes played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded one save in the shutout.
The win improves UCM's record to 13-2 overall, while Missouri Western falls to 8-5-1 on the season.
The Jens are back in action Sunday afternoon as they host Northwest Missouri. UCM defeated Northwest Missouri 6-1 earlier in the year.
