KEARNEY, Neb. -- The No. 1 Jennies beat Nebraska-Kearney 3-0 in their first MIAA road game of the season.
The Jennies had their first shot of the game in the third minute of action, but the shot from
Megan Woolley sailed harmlessly over the goal.
Woolley redeemed herself in the 14th minute when she found the back of the net off of a pass from
Jada Scott. The goal was Woolley's seventh of the season, and Scott's third assist.
Nebraska-Kearney's only shot on goal of the game came in the 29th minute, but a save from goalkeeper
Ana Dilkes kept the Lopers scoreless.
Kayla Hamner extended the Jennies lead to 2-0 when she scored from close range in the 66th minute.
Baylie Edwards was credited with the assist on the play. The goal was Hamner's second of the season, and Edwards' second assist.
Julie Ireland scored in the 71st minute of play to give the Jens a 3-0 lead. Ireland's goal set the MIAA record for most consecutive games with a goal scored, her streak currently sits at eight games. Her streak started when she scored a goal in the win against Augustana on September 6.
Annie Parscale was credited with an assist on the goal, her first of her collegiate career.
Dilkes played all 90 minutes in goal for the Jens. She faced only one shot and recorded a save.
UCM outshot the Lopers 14-4.
The win improves the Jennies' record to 9-0-0 overall, and 3-0-0 in the MIAA. The Lopers fall to 3-4-2 overall, and 2-1-0 in the MIAA.
The Jennies are back in action Sunday at 11 a.m. as they travel to Hays, Kansas to play Fort Hays State in another MIAA matchup.
