WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The No. 8 Jennies Soccer team dropped their first home game in almost two years Sunday afternoon to Northeastern State 1-0.
The Jennies had the first shot of the afternoon when
Jada Scott attempted to put the Jennies ahead in the second minute, but a save from the Northeastern State keeper kept the game scoreless. UCM had five shots in the first nine minutes of action, but could not find the back of the net.
Northeastern State scored the only goal of the game in the 81st minute when keeper
Ana Dilkes fell and left the goal wide open. Rachel Gleason of NSU took advantage of the situation and scored the goal.
UCM had their best chance to score in the 83rd minute when
Megan Woolley took a shot at the goal from close range, but the shot went right at the keeper.
Ana Dilkes played all 90 minutes in goal for the Jennies and recorded one save.
The loss drops the Jennies to 12-2 overall and 6-2 in the MIAA, while NSU improves to 11-3 overall and 6-2 in the MIAA.
The Jennies are back in action Friday evening as they host Missouri Western at 7 p.m.
