WARRENSBURG, Mo.
- Central Missouri Volleyball defeated Missouri Southern Friday night, 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-13) at the UCM Multipurpose Building. The Jennies move to 18-3 on the season with the win and 6-2 in the MIAA.

The Jennies spread out the offense with 12 players recording a kill. Kylie Hohlen led the way recording her second double-double of the season knocking 10 kills and pulling up 10 digs. Carly Sojka and Maddie Jones chipped in with seven kills each, while Kourtney Thompson and Kasey Hohlen added five apiece. Sojka and Jones were also a part of three blocks each while Thompson dished out 26 assists.

Shelby Winkelmann was one of four Jennies tallying double-digit digs. She had a match-high 14 while Annie Reilly collected 13 and Sojka and Ky. Hohlen each had 10. Reilly also smashed three service aces.

Things didn't start easily in the first set for the Jens. Missouri Southern jumped on the board early, taking a 4-1 lead and causing a Jennies timeout. The Lions remained in the lead for much of the early portion of the set. UCM took their first lead at 12-11, but MSSU kept close. UCM didn't take their first two-point lead until the first of back-to-back Katie Carlson service aces. She put the Jens up 20-17 and they never looked back, taking set one, 25-22.

The second and third sets were decidedly in UCM's favor. The Jennies took an early 10-point lead in set No. 2, 13-3 and were able to cruise to a 25-14 set win. K. Thompson, Ky. Hohlen and Jones all had four kills in the set. Set three was much the same. UCM used a 15-4 spurt to get ahead 20-7 and run away with the set and the match, 25-13.

As a team the Jennies hit .228 while holding the Lions to just a .054 attack percentage. The Jens also collected eight service aces to the Lions one.

UCM finishes the weekend tomorrow afternoon as they host Southwest Baptist for another MIAA contest. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
