Denver, Colo. – No. 5 Central Missouri went 0-4 at the Colorado Premier Challenge, falling to Florida Southern and Metro State in straight sets on Saturday.

Central Missouri won six of the first ten points in set one against Florida Southern, and held the lead until the Moccasins caught them at 10-10. Florida Southern then held the Jennies at 11, while they scored nine points to extend their lead. The Jens scored only three more points before Florida Southern took the set at 25-14. Central Missouri kept things tight in the second set, with 11 tie scores and seven led changes. Florida Southern scored three points in a row to win set two at 25-23. The Moccasins ran away with the third set, allowing only 11 points before taking the set and match.

Carly Sojka was the only Jennie to score more than six points in the match. She had 14 kills and a block, finishing with 14.5 points total. Haley Thompson had the second most points, with five kills and a block. Annie Reilly served the only ace of the match, and had 15 digs. Becca Blaise also had 15 digs. Shelby Winkelmann and Kourtney Thompson had three kills each. Winkelmann had 14 digs, and K. Thompson had 20 assists. Jessica McDougald had a pair of kills and a pair of blocks in the match.

Metro State dealt Central Missouri their fourth loss of the weekend, sweeping the Jennies 25-16, 25-12, 25-16. Metro lead the Jennies for a majority of the match. The closest set of the match was the first set, with six tie scores and four lead changes before Metro State took the set.

Sojka led the Jens again against Metro State. She had seven kills and a block, and 21 digs in the match. H. Thompson and McDougald had five kills each. K. Thompson and Winkelmann each had a kill, K. Thompson also had 18 assists while Winkelmann had 19 digs. Reilly led the team in digs, with 27 total in the match.

The Jens will open conference play on Tuesday with a match against Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo.
