DES MOINES, Iowa – Several members of the Mules and Jennies track and field team are competing at the Drake Relays this weekend. On Friday, the Mules 4x800 relay placed third. The Mules also qualified for the finals of the 4x400 relay, the finals of the race will take place Saturday afternoon.

The 4x800 relay squad of Cole Davis, Ross Lorber, Justin Romero, and Kellin Loch finished the race in 7:33.66.

Michael Lockhart, Marquis Jones, Osvaldo Granillo, and Loch took seventh in the preliminary race of the 4x400 relay. The team finished in a provisional qualifying time of 3:12.02.

 Jones, Kendall Preston, Chase McCoy, and Lockhart also ran in the 4x100 but did not qualify for the finals. The team took 13^th with a time of 41.87.

Nikki Douglas, Jessica Fennewald, Kailey Fuchs, and Madison Smith competed in the 4x100 relay, and finished 14^th at 48.49. Smith, Fuchs, Katie Cassidy, and Douglas also ran in the 4x400, placing 12^th at 3:48.81.

Brady Jacobs and Ryan Mixdorf competed at the Simpson Twilight in the 800m run. They placed 12th and 28th, respectively. Jacobs had a time of 1:57.17, and Mixdorf finished in 2:02.52.

The Drake Relays will finish up on Saturday.
